Osteopathy and Physiotherapy Costa del Sol is a collaboration between Physiotherapist and Manipulative Therapist Stanley Groot and Physiotherapist and Osteopath Mariëlle de Bruin and exists since 1993, their goal is to offer a high quality continues service.
After finishing her Physiotherapy studies in 1993, Mariëlle de Bruin came to Spain and has been working on the Costa del Sol since. She did two more post-graduated studies and attended other shorter specialisation courses.
Besides this training, Mariëlle did several other courses like "the Watson Headache Approach", Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Osteopathy for Babies, Posture Diagnosis and treatment and prevention of sports injuries.
Stanley Groot started practice in Fuengirola in 1991 after working in the Netherlands at a Rehab Hospital and a private practice. He graduated as a physiotherapist in 1980 and as a Manual Therapist in 1990. His objective is to provide patients with quality physiotherapeutic assistance, mainly through manual treatments, with an individual approach and where necessary in collaboration with doctors or specialist.

At the first appointment the therapist will discuss your condition with you and ask you about your medical history and experiences with previous treatments. When available X-rays or scans will be useful.
Next, the therapist will examine you to find out the area and nature of your problem. A decision will be made upon the most appropriate treatment for your case and a programme made tailored to your needs.
The therapist may also advise you on how you can treat or prevent your condition yourself, for example with some exercises to do at home or even you could be referred to someone else that could help you.
The previous treatment will be reviewed to see if it has been successful. If necessary the treatment will be adapted.

Regularly patients ask us if their insurance company will pay for our treatment. This will depend on the insurance you have and the country you are from. We always recommend that you ask your company first. The following information is based upon the experience of our patients over the last years:
